COVID Catch-Up Premium Funding

As our school receives the coronavirus (COVID-19) Catch-up Premium grant in the academic year 2020 to 2021, we are required to publish details of:

How it is intended that the grant will be spent

At Longfields, the deployment of funds from the 'Catch-up Premium' grant will be spent in a number of ways in order to close any attainment gap that exists following COVID disruptions.

These include, but are not exclusive to the following:

  • Targeted resources to support language development and phonics in ‘Early Years’ and KS1
  • Additional ‘Play Therapy’ sessions to support emotional well-being.
  • Use of ‘Forest School’ staff to help support emotional well-being.
  • Funding for increased support staff hours to provide individual and small group interventions and boosters.
  • Use of  ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and HSLW (Home School Link Worker) to support wellbeing of pupils and families.
  • Paying for staff CPD (both teachers and support staff) in order to increase the effectiveness of planning and catch-up programmes.
  • Subscriptions to online resources (e.g. TT Rockstars) to support curriculum provision

How the effect of this expenditure on the educational attainment of those pupils at the school will be assessed

  • As part of our whole-school monitoring programme, including assessment information analysis, teaching and learning monitoring and subject scrutinies, any 'gaps' will be identified, and progress towards them monitored, by the class teachers and Senior Leadership Team.
